A concert at the Casa de Cultura to celebrate the first centenary of the Hermitage of Santíssim Crist del Remei

A concert at the Casa de Cultura to celebrate the first centenary of the Hermitage of Santíssim Crist del Remei

The Hermitage of Santíssim Crist del Remei turns 100 years old and to celebrate it there is nothing better than premiering a piece of music. "From La Cala to the Hermitage", is the title of the chosen melody, with which its author, Azael Tormo, pays tribute to it. It will be this Sunday, November 9, at 6:30 p.m., at the municipal House of Culture. The Puig Campana Musical Centre will perform, in addition to this winning composition, the other two works that won the second and third prize in the Musical Composition Contest, which was convened by the City Council on the occasion of the celebration of this centenary.

The author "De La Cala a l'Ermita" offers the listener a walk through Finestrat. Led by a cyclist, the tour begins with the first rays of dawn light on the beach of La Cala. From there it moves along the entire municipal area until it reaches the Hermitage, where it takes a break and contemplates the beautiful panoramic view it has: behind it, the Puig Campana, majestic, and in front, the entire bay.

Toni Barber will be in charge of directing the musicians who will perform the three selected pieces for the first time: "De la Cala a la Ermita", which won the first prize, "(RE)m(E)i", by Vicente Sellés Álamo, with the second and third prizes, which was for the piece composed by David Pont Ripoll, entitled "Panoràmiques de Finestrat".
