Climb the Puig Campana “Volta”, north face

Climb the Puig Campana “Volta”, north face

Climb the Puig Campana -  North Face.

Round trip journey of 12 Km with difficulties, where the paths join and reach the peak of the Puig Campana, with a positive slope slightly above 1,000 meters  from the Font del Moli. Length of the route between 4 and 6 hours depending on the pace.

We will begin the route from the  information point "Font del Moli." Follow the asphalt road and at 240 meters you can take the dirt road on the right or follow the road, both converge at the same point over a small bridge where you will then follow a dirt track.

50 m later we will see various signs, take the path on the left  PR-CV 289 Coll Pouet, then in a straight line climb  to the PR-V 14 Puig Campana (4 Km), which leads to the "vertical rise" of this mountain. Following the PR-CV 289 we come to a junction at kilometer 1'1 (PK from this point) continue on the right side, as on the left you would follow the road back to the starting point. Follow the path around the Puig Campana and you arrive at PK 4 at the mountain refuge. Turn right onto a path with wooden railings overlooking a wide track to reach the "Coll del Pouet" in PK 4'7. Here you will come across several roads and you need to go in a straight line on the forest path to La Nucia, on the left you will see a small path which passes through the "Pas de la Rabossa" continuing in the Sella direction. A little further on the left you will see the path that will lead you to Mount Ponoig. In our case we will take the road on the right  where we see many signs in the same direction, which are: "Font Moli por Foia Cac" (6-7 km) and "Font de la Solsida" (0.6 Km ) for PR-V 289 and "Cim Puig Campana" and "Sender Botanic de l'Ombria del Puig Campana". Here we reach 200 m. later at a sharp bend you will continue to the right towards the "Cim Puig Campana" and Sender Botanic". Here and in just under 2 km  is a wide track that will narrow gradually into a steep path with areas of loose stones and zig zags that will lead to a plain called the "Bancal del Moro" reaching 1280 meters altitude. Somewhere before the middle of the 2 km and the harder ramps you will come across a small sign post marked on a rocky area that indicates the existence nearby on the left "Pou de la Neu". At the "Bancal del Moro", we would be just above the central gully feature of Puig Campana, choosing the path down (not recommended) or go straight to the south – south east for a little less than 1 km, searching and overlooking the sea we will see small trails with spectacular views that will take us to the top of  the Puig of 1,410 m altitude. By this point, we will drop several small paths that lead us back to the "Bancal del Moro" where the descent begins to the Font del Moli, following the same route used during the ascent.

Nota: The whole ascent is made along a path with many curves. Therefore, if at any point we go off, we should go back and look for the path again to find its continuation. This is the best recommendation to avoid ascents through dangerous areas and the risks of erosion.
