Even in the busiest summer months, La Cala de Finestrat is somewhere you can always find an oasis of peace and tranquillity. In spite of only being tiny, it has so many places to discover. One of the most beautiful is the Mirador (the viewpoint), built in the 60s of the last century, and located on the highest point of the Tossal hill, an archaeological site dating back to the 1st century BC. The views of the Mediterranean Sea are breathtaking from here, with the island Isla de los Periodistas ahead, the silhouettes of the buildings in the background and the mountain behind.

From the Mirador you can admire the stunning natural environment surrounding the cove, with its little crags, cliffs and a magnificent Mediterranean setting. If you’re a lover of the sea, you can go snorkelling or scuba diving - the seabed is incredibly rich and varied, with many species of fish and coral. Or if you prefer hiking,  you can follow the trails from the Mirador itself towards Benidorm and La Vila Joiosa.

After taking in the expanse of the sea, we begin the descent to the Plaça de l'Àmfora. The panoramic views of the beach are simply stunning. At this time of the year, close to the start of the summer holiday season, the shore looks like it often does, with the tourists who choose Finestrat as their holiday destination and who from early morning spread out their towels and open their parasols to revel in the still pleasant temperatures of June.
