La Cala dresses up as flamenco this weekend to celebrate the April Fair. Lighting of lights, live music, flamenco dance and tapas contest, in which almost twenty beach establishments participate, and which will begin this Thursday, April 30.
During this Saturday and Sunday you can enjoy one of the most joyful parties in Spain. Residents and tourists will be able to experience the essence of Andalusian culture, characterized by joy and showiness, and for the most daring it is time to dust off the Cordovan costume and the faralaes costume.
The tapas contest begins this Thursday and will end on Sunday, May 3. There will be prizes for the first two classified and another prize will be raffled among the people who have voted for the best tapa.
The program of events is as follows:
Saturday 2
12:00 p.m. Start of the Fair with stilt walkers, exhibition of horses from the Yeguada de Saray, dancers and flamenco group Las 7 lunas. From Bar Ruta 66, on Avenida Marina Baixa (Magical Splash).
12:45h. Arrival at Plaça de l'Àmfora.
1:15 p.m. Vermouth tasting. Plaça Àmfora pergola.
5:00 p.m. Flamenco dance demonstration.
6:00 p.m. Castanets Workshop. There will be a gift for those who come dressed as flamenco.
6:45 p.m. Performance of flamenco musical group and dance.
7:00 p.m. Photocall.
8:30 p.m. Switching on the lights.
10:00 p.m. DJ session.
10:30 p.m. Photocall.
00:00h. Closing.
Sunday 3
11:00 a.m. Agurtzane Altuna School Dance.
12:30 p.m. Children's workshops under the pergola. Making of flowers and fans.
12:30 p.m. Tasting of rebujitos.
4:30 p.m. Awards ceremony for the winners of the Tapas Contest.
6:00 p.m. Closing with ambient music.
