Les Arts Volants arrive in Finestrat this Thursday to bring culture closer to the daily life of its inhabitants
This Thursday, July 9, the large stage truck "Les Arts Volants" arrives in Finestrat, an itinerant project of the Palau de Les Arts in Valencia that brings opera and zarzuela to the municipalities of the Community. It will be at 10:00 p.m. in the Plaça de la Unió Europea and admission is free. The main objective of this cultural initiative is to break the traditional physical barriers of theatre and bring the beauty of lyrical art to any corner of the Valencian Community, to its public squares and outdoor spaces, integrating culture into the daily life of the inhabitants of the place.
The plot takes place in a town with a Valencian flavor, which is governed by a council of "analogue yayas".The square is the place where all mysteries are solved and all discords end in revelry. The music of this zarzuela is by the composer José Serrano, the master of Sueca, who is able to articulate in the imagination of Enrique Viana, creator of this comic-lyrical nonsense, a friendly and current plot, turning it into a firecracker of romances and numbers, chosen from among the lesser known titles of the Valencian master. All this is done without the zarzuela losing one iota of its essence.
This is a show that wants to make a sincere tribute to the theatre of escape so popular in Spain before the Civil War.
Enrique Viana signs the original idea, the dramaturgy, the stage direction and the costumes of the zarzuela. The scenography is in charge of Daniel Bianco and the choreography is by Cristina Arias.
