The tourist season starts and the beach already has all its services in operation
Until 15 October, most of the services that have just been launched this June and that kick off a new tourist season, that of 2025, will be maintained. Rescue and lifeguard, access to the bathroom for people with reduced mobility, smoke-free beach, as smoking and vaping are prohibited, public address system that is powered by solar energy, free connectivity to the WifiFinestrat network and flags that wave showing the quality granted by the ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications.
Description of the services provided:
RESCUE AND LIFEGUARD: Since June 1 it has been operational every day, from Monday to Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., uninterruptedly and until October 15. In this case it is important to remember the recent signage work of the lifeguard post, with the signage completely renewed, more colorful and larger, to facilitate location from any point on the beach.
ACCESSIBLE BEACH AREA: Since June 1, the Accessible Beach area has also been in operation, where lifeguard personnel facilitate bathing for people with reduced mobility, with shades and wooden walkways. It has the same hours as the lifeguard service, from Monday to Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. As a novelty, this year it changes location and is available at the eastern end of the beach, next to Plaça de l'Àmfora, as there is more space and more comfort for users and the accesses are wider.
SOLAR-POWERED PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM: It is an information system installed on the promenade to inform bathers about issues such as the flag that is flying, green, yellow or red, depending on the risk to bathing. They also report that La Cala de Finestrat is a smoke-free beach. The system is powered by solar energy.
CONNECTIVITY: La Cala has a WiFinestrat Network with free access on the beach itself, in addition to the USB connection on various benches along the promenade to facilitate the recharging of mobile devices.
5 YEARS BEING A SMOKE-FREE BEACH: In 2020, Finestrat became the first City Council in Spain not to allow smoking or vaping on its beach. This summer marks 5 years since the introduction of this measure, which is duly signposted with informative posters at the entrance to the beach for each walkway.
Other services that are also available to residents and visitors are the bio-healthy area for outdoor physical exercise, beach volleyball nets, public toilets and the possibility of renting hammocks, umbrellas and awnings.
In recent months, the improvements in La Cala have included maintenance work on footbaths and changing rooms, the refurbishment of all the wooden benches on the promenade and Plaça de l'Àmfora and the renovation of the children's playground
